Pack 363 News
Pack "On Vacation"
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pack 363 is currently not active.
If you have any interest in helping rebuild our pack, please contact John Weber via the Contact page information.
Thank you to the Plank North family for 30+ years of fun and support!
Welcome Back!
We hope everyone had a great summer, and that you're excited for the 2019-2020 Scouting year! Here are some of the things you'll need to know...
Leadership Changes
We would like to announce that Chris Beatson has volunteered to be our Cubmaster for the upcoming year! His contact information is on the Contact page. Former Cubmaster John Weber will be staying on as a Committee Member and Assistant Cubmaster.
Also, Mike Hyman has stepped down as Committee Chairman, so Jon Bernard has volunteered to help cover that position as well as be the Den Leader for the Wolf Den.
Please support the pack by volunteering for any job - big or small!
Joining Night
The pack is hosting a Joining Night on Monday, September 16th at 6:30 PM! If your family wants to find out more information about scouting, please feel free to stop by the Plank North Cafeteria!
1st Pack Meeting / Campout
As long as the weather forecast is good, we will have our first Pack Meeting AT our First Campout this year! The scouts will be doing skits and songs as part of a campfire program. All families are encouraged to attend. Please see your e-mail, or contact the Cubmaster for the event details.
Popcorn and Nut Sale
The pack's annual fundraiser is underway! The pack keeps 30% of all sales, and uses those funds to support the program, purchase food for events, and provide awards for the scouts. Please support the pack (and encourage your scouts to learn some basic money management skills!) by having your scouts participate in the sale. Your family can... attend a booth event for 2 hours, canvas a neighborhood in a small group ("Blitz"), or keep it simple and sell just to family/friends/neighbors. Every little bit helps, and there are prizes too! Please see Robin's e-mail for more information.
April Showers... May Events
I hope all our pack mothers had a great Mother's Day this past Sunday!
This upcoming Saturday is a Trail Clean-Up Day with the Friends of Webster Trails. Please see Purnima's e-mail for the sign-up sheet and additional information. Hopefully it won't rain!
Our final "regular" Pack Meeting is next Monday, May 20th, at Plank North. It's going to be an exciting Carnival themed evening, so please try to stop by if you can!
Finally, the pack will be marching once again in the Memorial Day Parade here in Webster on Monday, May 27th. Please see the sign-up sheet John sent out for additional information and to let us know you're participating!
2019 Is Flying By! (Must be the windy weather!)
Things have been busy around our pack!
The Pinewood Derby on February 9th was a huge success! The cars all looked great, and were FAST! We'll be sending 7 scouts to the Bay Waters District Pinewood Derby on April 6th, where they'll race other Cub Scouts from Webster, Penfield, and Irondequoit.
We also had our YMCA overnight last weekend. The kids who attended had a lot of fun playing in the pool and watching WALL-E on the big screen before falling asleep. Only the time change (loosing an hour of sleep) caused any grumbling on Sunday morning for the 5 families who braved the overnight part of the event!
Finally, our Blue and Gold Dinner and Boy Scout Crossover event is coming up fast - mark your calendars for Monday, March 25 at the school for an great evening of potluck food and awards! Please note we're starting early that night - 6:30 for food, and 7 PM for the awards.
January Events
2019 has barely started, but the pack is ready to have some winter fun!
Our January pack meeting is this Monday night, with the monthly hike moved to next Saturday (1/19) and back-to-back events scheduled for the 26th (Cub Klondike) and the 27th (Sledding Party). Please keep an eye on your e-mails for details regarding all these fun events!
Finally, a quick reminder that the Pinewood Derby - which we traditionally held in January - has been moved to February 9th this year. We will be handing out cars to all the scouts at the pack meeting on Monday, and look forward to a great race!
Happy Holidays!
The pack hosted their first "board game day" at a local assisted living center, and everyone had a lot of fun! We also handed out the Holiday Cards we made at the pack meeting last week to the residents - they loved all the artwork!
We wish everyone a happy holiday season, and look forward to seeing you in 2019!
Hot Cocoa Hike
Many thanks to the 7 families who braved the cold weather last night to participate in the Friends of Webster Trails annual Hot Cocoa Hike! Everyone enjoyed the night hike, and the best hot chocolate in Webster!
Next month's hike information will be e-mailed about a week before the hike... and we hope to see you there!
Fall Overnight Event
The Sign-Up Genius link for our exciting Fall Overnight trip has been e-mailed to all registered pack families! There is a maximum number of scouts that can participate due to space constraints, so please sign up as soon as possible so we can get an accurate head count for the facility.
The e-mail also had some important/required paperwork attached - so if you didn't get the e-mail, please contact Cubmaster John or Chairman Mike, or check the Facebook group for the files.
Halloween/Fall Event
Pack 363 had an excellent Halloween/Fall Event/Pack Meeting this past weekend! The rain held off and over 20 families participated. Everyone seemed to have a great time on the hay ride, playing "human foosball", painting pumpkins, and setting off "ghost rockets". Even just sitting around the campfire was a great way to keep warm!
Many thanks again to everyone who helped plan the event - especially our hosts for the evening!
Popcorn! Popcorn! Popcorn!
Just a quick reminder that we need EVERY SCOUT to help support our pack with the annual Popcorn Sale!
Every little bit helps provide a quality program to our families and keep out-of-pocket costs as low as possible. Your scouts can sell to family, friends, neighbors, and your co-workers - or they can help sell at one of the booth events. Please check your e-mail for details, and thank you for your support!
Also - besides the 2019 Registration/Dues reductions we offer ($35 for $200 of sales; $70 for $400), scouts can earn cool prizes! Please see the popcorn sales form for prize information.
2018 Fall Campout - Success!
Pack 363's first campout last weekend was a success! We had 30 people attend the event, and everyone had a great time!
Looking forward to our next event? The pack hike is on October 13 and the pack meeting/fall party event is on October 20. Please keep an eye on your e-mail for the necessary information over the next week or so.
2018 Fall Campout
Pack 363's first campout is this weekend, September 29th to September 30th. It'll be a great event for all who attend - fishing, gaga ball, hayride, campfire, and many other activities! Please see the e-mail sent out last week for event details and the Sign-up Genius link.
If you're new to scouting and would like to join our pack, please feel free to contact John Weber for additional information.

2018 Joining Night
Plank North Pack 363 is hosting a Joining Night on Monday, September 10th at 6:45 PM! If your family wants to find out more information about scouting, please feel free to stop by!
We offer the Cub Scout program to all area boys in Kindergarten through 5th Grade - you don't need to attend Plank North to participate! Although we currently are not offering the program to elementary-age girls, and can definitely help you find out more about the family scouting initiative if you're interested.
More information about scouting and our joining night can be found on the flyer we posted through Webster Central School's Facebook page:
